We Share Knowledge and Stories, Not Your Data

Inscription (https://inscription.in) exists for one reason: to share information and knowledge through blogs, and to share stories for entertainment. You can read everything here without registering, subscribing, or handing over any personal details.

This policy explains, in plain language, the very small amount of information that may be involved when you use our website.

1

What We Collect

In Short

Simply reading Inscription does not require you to share anything with us. The only personal information we receive is what you choose to type into a form, mainly your email address when you comment on a blog.

Information You Choose to Share

  • When you comment on a blog: your name (or display name), your email address, and the comment itself. Your email address is used only so we can identify the commenter and, if needed, reply to you. It is never displayed publicly.
  • When you write to us through the Contact Page: the name, email address, and message you send, so that we can respond.

What We Do Not Collect

  • No accounts, passwords, or sign-up details, because you don't need to register to read.
  • No payment or financial information.
  • No newsletter or mailing list.
  • No precise location, contacts, photos, or device data.
  • No sensitive personal information of any kind.

Like almost every website, the server that delivers our pages may keep basic technical records (such as the time of a request and the IP address it came from) for a short period purely to keep the site running and protect it from abuse. We do not use these records to identify or track individual readers.

3

How We Use Your Information

The little information we receive is used only for these purposes:

  • Running the comment section: showing your comment alongside your display name, and letting us moderate spam or abusive content.
  • Replying to you: answering comments, questions, corrections, or messages you send us.
  • Keeping the site safe: preventing spam, bots, and attacks on the website.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising or to build profiles about you.

4

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser. We only use the basic cookies the website needs in order to work properly:

These cookies do not track you across other websites. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site will still be readable, though comment forms and theme switching may not work correctly.

5

Your Rights & Choices

Wherever you live, including California (California Consumer Privacy Act), the European Economic Area (General Data Protection Regulation), and the United Kingdom, you are in control of the information you share with us. You may email us at any time to:

  • Access: ask what information we hold about you (for example, the email and name attached to your comments).
  • Correct: ask us to fix anything that is inaccurate.
  • Delete: ask us to remove your comments and the email address linked to them.
  • Object or restrict: ask us to stop using your information for a particular purpose.
  • Export: ask for a copy of your information in a common, readable format.

Because we do not sell personal information, there is nothing to opt out of in that respect, and exercising any of these rights will never affect your access to our blogs and stories. Send requests to contact@inscription.in and we will respond within a reasonable time, generally within 30 days. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK and are unhappy with our response, you may also contact your local data protection authority.

6

Children's Privacy

Inscription is intended for a general audience and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). If you believe a child has shared their name or email address with us through a comment or contact form, please write to contact@inscription.in and we will delete it promptly.

7

Security & Retention

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share. Our website uses an encrypted HTTPS connection, access to our administration area is limited to authorized staff, and our forms are protected against spam and automated abuse.

Retention: comment details are kept for as long as your comment remains on the site, and messages sent through the contact form are kept only as long as needed to respond to you. We will delete either on request. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep the little data we hold safe.

9

Changes to This Policy

If we change how Inscription works or how we handle information, we will update this page and the "Last Modified" date at the top. Please check back occasionally.
